USDA and Oklahoma Partner for 9,000-Acre Conservation Plan

Agriculture Deputy Secretary Chuck Conner announced a new $20.6 million cooperative conservation partnership with the State of Oklahoma to create up to 9,000 acres of riparian buffers and filter strips. The conservation plantings will reduce the flow of nutrients, sediment and other pollutants in the Spavinaw Lake and Illinois River/Lake Tenkiller watersheds.


Statewide Damages From Ice Storm

On January 14, 2007, The President declared an emergency exists in the State of Oklahoma and ordered Federal aid to supplement State and local response efforts in the area struck by severe winter storms and flooding beginning on January 12, 2007, and continuing.
