Oklahoma Celebrates Completion of Watershed Rehabilitation - First in the Nation

A celebration ceremony was held near Ochelata, Oklahoma, to mark the completion of the rehabilitation of six upstream flood control dams in the Double Creek Watershed Project. It is the first watershed project in the nation to have all the dams rehabilitated.

Signup for New Conservation Stewardship Program Begins August 10

USDA Deputy Secretary Merrigan announces the continuous sign-up for the new Conservation Stewardship Program. Applications for the first ranking period must be submitted by September 30, 2009.

USDA Announces $58 Million To Improve Water Quality And Quantity In Agricultural Production

NRCS Chief Dave White announces nearly $58 million through the Agricultural Water Enhancement Program for water conservation and water quality improvements on agricultural working lands. The funding was made available for 63 projects in 21 states through the Agricultural Water Enhancement Program. Oklahoma was approved for one AWEP Project at $275,000.
